Reichenau Mission Primary Gets 11th Joberg2C Library

24 June – KwaZulu-Natal

On the last day of term, Reichenau Mission Primary School welcomed its 11th Joberg2C Mandela Container Library, donated by German cyclist Danny Vogel and his hometown community.

The container, built and painted in Mainz before being shipped to South Africa, arrived stocked with nearly 1,000 books from Rotary International, magazines from Joe’s Magz, Urban Legend comics from Norway, and early readers in Zulu, English, and Xhosa.

The celebration featured speeches, music, and even a Grade 5 learner serving as programme director. Mandela Library Project CEO Robert Coutts urged the children to “read, dream big, and follow in the footsteps of Madiba.”
