Mkukhumbha High School Receives Trolley Library and More
4 August 2016 – Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga
In the rural community of Bushbuckridge, 340 high school students at Mkukhumbha High were treated to a day they’ll never forget — the arrival of a Mandela Trolley Library, a KTM bike display, and an atmosphere of celebration.
Thanks to the Lowveld Dual Bike Association’s fundraising, the school received:
Books worth R25,000 from Qualibooks
LO and sexual health books from Rotary Bedfordview
Sanitary products donated by the Tarr family and Crowthorne Spar
Soccer balls, South African flags, and copper Mandela bangles
Learners responded with song, dance, poetry, and a proud display of their 92% matric pass rate. Principal Charles Mohlabine’s dream? To see one of his students become a doctor. “If you want to go far, go together,” Robert Coutts reminded them.
