Mkukhumbha High School Receives Trolley Library and More

4 August 2016 – Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga

In the rural community of Bushbuckridge, 340 high school students at Mkukhumbha High were treated to a day they’ll never forget — the arrival of a Mandela Trolley Library, a KTM bike display, and an atmosphere of celebration.

Thanks to the Lowveld Dual Bike Association’s fundraising, the school received:

  • Books worth R25,000 from Qualibooks

  • LO and sexual health books from Rotary Bedfordview

  • Sanitary products donated by the Tarr family and Crowthorne Spar

  • Soccer balls, South African flags, and copper Mandela bangles

Learners responded with song, dance, poetry, and a proud display of their 92% matric pass rate. Principal Charles Mohlabine’s dream? To see one of his students become a doctor. “If you want to go far, go together,” Robert Coutts reminded them.
