Kokosi Primary Receives 1,000 Masks for a Safe Return

22 June 2020 – Fochville, Gauteng

School may be back in session, but the “new normal” means extra precautions for learners and teachers. At Kokosi Primary, that protection came in the form of 1,000 masks donated by 1MillionSmiles.co.za and delivered by the Mandela Education Programme.

For Principal Rose Ngobeni, the masks mean more than compliance — they’re a chance to keep education on track despite the challenges of COVID-19. “It’s a strange year, but our children will still give their best,” she said.

If there’s one lesson this pandemic has reinforced, it’s that working together can overcome even the toughest obstacles — a core belief of Mandela Day.
