How We Operate

The Mandela Education Programme works on a simple but powerful idea: bring libraries and learning tools directly into schools where they are needed most. Every project we deliver is carefully designed, fully equipped, and ready to be used the day it arrives. With the help of donations and community partnerships, we create spaces that make education accessible, secure, and inspiring.

Mandela Container Libraries

Our container libraries are more than converted spaces — they’re safe, secure, and inspiring places for young minds. Each 6m unit is refurbished with care: insulated walls for comfort, upgraded burglar bars for safety, lighting and plug points pre-installed, and a cosy reading nook designed especially for early learners.

Inside, shelves are stocked with storybooks, magazines, comics, and educational resources that ignite a love for reading. For communities where a traditional library is a distant dream, these containers bring knowledge right to the school gates. They become hubs of imagination, a place where children can read, learn, and dream big.

Mandela Digital

Libraries

The world is moving fast, and no child should be left behind. Our Mandela Digital Library Project equips schools with Smart Board technology, interactive GED-based learning platforms, and carefully chosen digital resources like Khan Academy to bring the modern classroom to life.

Teachers get tools to enrich lessons, while learners gain access to a world of knowledge far beyond the textbook. These platforms are especially designed for older grades, helping them step confidently into the digital age.

Supporting a digital library means giving

children the skills they need for tomorrow.
